AI-Native Innovation Lab

Building the Intelligence Layer for the Physical World.

From Complex Data to Real-World Intelligence.

We combine artificial intelligence, advanced data engineering and geospatial technologies to build proprietary intelligence platforms that help people and organisations make sense of the physical world.

Tunaona

Understand What’s Happening Around You.

Tunaona is an AI-powered, location-based civic intelligence platform. It helps people understand the issues, incidents and changing conditions affecting their communities.

  • Community reporting

Residents can report what they see happening in their area.

  • Location-based information

Information is organised around place, so it relates to where you are.

  • Infrastructure awareness

Visibility of conditions affecting the infrastructure communities rely on.

  • Safety-related information

Information that helps people stay aware of safety conditions nearby.

Tunaona means “we see” in Swahili.

Tunaona app: the live map of reported issues over Kinshasa, with numbered clusters of reports and filters for issue categories such as utilities and services, and security.
Tunaona app: Location Insights for Kinshasa, showing current weather and air quality, an Area Safe status and an AI-generated safety analysis.
Tunaona app: a Road Closure report open on the map, showing where and when it was reported and its progress from Verifying to Authorities alerted to Open.

An AI-Native Innovation Lab.

Our long-term ambition is to develop technologies that help the digital world better understand the physical one.

The physical world generates enormous amounts of information. Understanding it is still hard.

Communities, infrastructure, environments and complex systems all produce signals, but those signals are often fragmented, disconnected or difficult to interpret. J-Tech AI exists to close the gap between complex data and real-world understanding.

We develop proprietary intelligence technologies by combining artificial intelligence, advanced data engineering, geospatial technologies and intelligent software engineering. We apply that AI-native engineering to turn fragmented information into contextual intelligence, and build products that help people and organisations make better-informed decisions.

Applied
We put AI to work on real-world data, about real places and real conditions.
Product-led
We build and own our technology, starting with Tunaona.
Engineered
Every product rests on careful data and software engineering.

Observe. Understand. Anticipate.

Three ideas guide how we approach every problem. They describe the direction of our innovation, not a claim that every product already does all three.

  1. Observe

    Connect real-world information and signals.

  2. Understand

Apply intelligent analysis to reveal meaningful patterns and relationships.

  3. Anticipate

Develop capabilities supporting earlier risk identification and more informed decisions.

AI-Native by Design.

AI is not a feature we add at the end. It shapes how we design data systems, interfaces and products from the start.

Our focus is practical innovation: engineering AI that works on real data, about real places, for people who need to act on it.

  • Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning

Applied models that help interpret real-world information as it actually arrives: incomplete, uneven and changing.

  • Data Engineering & Intelligence

Pipelines that gather fragmented data, clean it and give it structure, so it can be analysed and trusted.

  • Geospatial Intelligence

Location treated as a first-class dimension, mapping information to place so spatial patterns and relationships become visible.

  • Intelligent Product Engineering

Turning capability into products people can use: dependable software, clear interfaces and careful handling of data.

We Innovate. We Engineer. We Build.

We work like a lab with a product mindset: curious about what is newly possible, disciplined about what is actually useful.

  1. Innovate

We explore emerging capabilities in AI, data and geospatial technology, and prototype ideas quickly so we learn from real data rather than assumptions.

  2. Engineer

We focus on real problems, shaped by the people and places they affect, and engineer solutions that hold up outside the lab.

  3. Build

What works becomes proprietary technology: products designed to be reliable, maintainable and genuinely useful.

Let’s Build What’s Next.

We welcome meaningful conversations with organisations, technology partners and institutions interested in applied AI and intelligent data systems.

  • Organisations facing complex real-world data challenges
  • Technology partners working in AI, data or geospatial systems
  • Institutions exploring applied AI for public benefit
